Inspirations

We teach, we lead, and we guide through inspirations

It’s inevitable, there are only so many ways to teach yoga āsana, only so many ways to sequence, only so many ways to convey thoughts, only so many ways to create an event / a retreat / a teacher training, and only so many ways to retell tales, fables, and mythology.

I sometimes get asked if get bothered if any part of how I teach gets “copied”. And a younger Kate would answer that it did bother her but these days, I’m not bothered by the slightest.

Why?

Because it truly is an honour to serve as inspiration to others. In the same way many teachers, writers, poets, educators, life coaches, speakers, business owners, and thinkers have inspired me or prompted a train of thought that led to a rabbit hole of discovery.

I did not get here on my own.

I will not continue moving forward on my own.

How could I actively seek for sources of inspiration and be bothered that I might also be a source for others? You just can’t. And to feel entitled to gatekeeping any part of me or what I can humbly offer would speak more to my own insecurities than anything else.

Ultimately, I believe that being the best version of yourself and presenting your most heartfelt offerings will be nurtured by an exchange of energy, it’s a cycle. To be inspired, to inspire.

To care, is to share.

So let’s just share with each other.
